Issues regarding Chicken Jerky Treats from China

In 2007 the FDA issued a cautionary warning regarding chicken jerky products.

In 2011, FDA saw an increase in the number of complaints it received of dog illnesses associated with consumption of chicken jerky products imported from China.

The FDA has analyzed chicken jerky treats for evidence of toxins, chemicals, etc and have found nothing despite the fact that complaints regarding the treats keep coming in.

According to FDA officials, "No specific products have been recalled because a definitive cause has not been determined"

If you have a pet you believe became ill due to these types of treats, you can report it at the FDA's Pet Food Complaint Site

By sending any information you have, you can help the FDA get to the bottom of this issue.
