Natura Recall Expanded

Natura Pet Products is expanding its recall of dry pet food because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella

Sampling conducted by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and the Georgia Department of Agriculture confirmed the presence of Salmonella in additional dry cat food and a cat pet treat. In an abundance of caution, Natura is also recalling product made in the surrounding timeframe. This affects dry foods only; no canned wet food is affected by this announcement.

For a list of affected products visit http://www.fda.gov/downloads/Safety/Recalls/UCM345972.pdf

For additional information, customers may visit www.naturapet.com. For further information or a product replacement or refund call Natura toll-free at 800-224-6123. (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM CST).

If you feel your pet has gotten sick after eating this food or any pet food:

1) See your veterinarian
2) Contact the FDA to report the adverse event. http://www.fda.gov/petfoodcomplaints
3) Contact your State Department of Agriculture
4) Contact the Pet Food Manufacturer
5) Save the pet food and packaging as the FDA and State Department of Agriculture investigators may ask for it. Make sure you wash your hands well if you are touching the food. Make sure your pets cannot get to it.

Many adverse pet food events go unreported, causing contaminated foods to stay on store shelves longer than they should.
